Terms of Use
Factor I O Co., Ltd. · Effective 30 September 2026
These terms apply to
Cat Countdown on Android and iPhone, and to the one
subscription it sells:
Cloud Backup, an auto-renewing
yearly
subscription. By downloading, installing or using the app, or by buying the subscription, you agree
to these terms. How the app handles your data is described separately in our
Privacy Statement, which forms part of these terms.
01 / The short version
- Cloud Backup is a yearly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel it. It is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account, at the price the store shows you before you confirm.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the year ends to avoid the next renewal. You cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, not in the app and not with us.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, because they take the payment.
- Your backup lives in your own Google Drive or iCloud. Factor IO never receives, stores or proxies it, and the subscription does not make us a storage provider.
- There is no Factor IO account. Your purchase belongs to your store account and is restored from there.
02 / Who we are
The agreement is between you and Factor IO
Cat Countdown is published by Factor I O Co., Ltd., a company registered in
Thailand under registration number 0105562205512, at 88/57 Sethasiri Punyainthra, Bang Chan,
Klong Sam Wa, Bangkok 10510, Thailand (“Factor IO”, “we”, “us”).
These terms are an agreement between you and Factor IO only. Apple and Google distribute the app and
take payment for it, but they are not parties to these terms (see sections 10 and 11).
03 / Your licence to the app
What you may do with Cat Countdown
Cat Countdown is a paid app. When you obtain it from the App Store or Google Play, we grant you a
personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use it for your own
non-commercial purposes, on devices you own or control, as permitted by the rules of the store you
obtained it from (including family sharing where that store offers it).
You may not copy, modify, redistribute, sell, rent or sublicense the app; decompile, reverse
engineer or attempt to extract its source code, except where the law allows you to despite this
restriction; circumvent its licence check or purchase verification; or use it in any way that breaks
the law. The app, its artwork (including the cats), its code and its name remain ours. The licence
ends automatically if you break these terms.
04 / The Cloud Backup subscription
Price, renewal, cancellation and refunds
Cloud Backup is an optional in-app purchase. The app works without it; the subscription adds
cloud backup of your app data. It is sold as a single auto-renewing yearly subscription.
- Price. The price, in your local currency and including any applicable taxes, is shown by the App Store or Google Play before you confirm the purchase. That displayed price is the price you pay.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account (iPhone) or your Google Play account (Android) when you confirm the purchase.
- Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically for another year at the end of each yearly period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Managing and cancelling. You can turn off auto-renew or cancel at any time in your store account settings. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
- When a cancellation takes effect. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Cloud Backup until the end of the yearly period you have already paid for.
- Free trials and introductory offers. If the store offers you a free trial or an introductory price, its length and the price that follows are shown before you confirm. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or offer ends, the subscription continues at the regular yearly price. Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion of it is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Price changes. If the yearly price changes, Apple or Google will notify you as their rules require, and where those rules require your consent to a higher price, the subscription will not renew at that price without it.
- Refunds. Apple and Google process all payments, so refund requests go to them and are decided under their policies: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Google through Google Play’s refund process. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases ourselves, and cancelling does not by itself refund the current period. Nothing in this section limits any right to a refund you have under the law of your country.
- Restoring your purchase. Because there is no Factor IO account, your subscription belongs to the store account that bought it. On a new or reset device signed in to that same store account, use Restore purchases in the app.
Purchases are verified through RevenueCat, our billing provider, as described in section 03 of
the Privacy Statement.
05 / What Cloud Backup is, and is not
A copy in your own account, not a copy with us
When Cloud Backup runs, the app writes your app data into a private area of your own
Google Drive, or of your own iCloud account on iPhone. The subscription pays
for that feature in the app. It does not buy storage from us, and Factor IO neither receives, stores
nor proxies your backup. Please be aware that:
- Your storage provider’s terms apply. The backup uses space in your Google or Apple account and is subject to that account’s quota, availability and terms. If your account is full, suspended or deleted, or you revoke the app’s access to it, backups can fail or be lost, and that is outside our control.
- The app adds no encryption of its own to the backup archive. Its protection is whatever your storage provider applies. Keep your Google or Apple account secure.
- A backup is a copy, not a guarantee. We work to make backups reliable, but we cannot promise that every backup will complete or that every backup can be restored in every circumstance. Keep your device and your storage account in good order, and do not rely on Cat Countdown as the only record of anything you cannot afford to lose.
- If your subscription ends, the app stops making new cloud backups. Backups already written stay in your own Google Drive or iCloud account, because they were never ours to delete; you can remove them there yourself.
06 / Your content
What you create stays yours
Your countdowns, dates, tasks, notes, attachments and settings belong to you. We claim no rights in
them and never receive them. You are responsible for what you put into the app and for having the
right to store any attachment you add.
07 / Changes to the app
The app will change over time
We may update, improve, or change features of Cat Countdown, and some updates may be needed to keep
using it or its subscription. We will announce any change that affects a subscription you have
already paid for in the app before it takes effect.
08 / Warranty and liability
What we promise, and its limits
We build Cat Countdown with care, but, to the extent the law allows, it is provided “as
is” and “as available”, without any warranty that it will be uninterrupted,
error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose beyond what we describe. Weather shown in the app
comes from Open-Meteo and is a forecast, not a promise.
To the extent the law allows, Factor IO is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for
loss of data, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app or the subscription
is limited to the amount you paid for the app and the subscription in the twelve months before the
claim arose.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or remedy you have as a consumer that
cannot be excluded or limited by law, in Thailand or in the country where you live, nor any
liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.
09 / Governing law
Thai law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand, and the courts of Thailand have
jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of any
mandatory consumer law of your country and may bring a claim where that law allows. Please write to
us first; most problems are easier to fix by email.
10 / If you got the app from the App Store
Additional terms for iPhone
If you obtained Cat Countdown from Apple’s App Store, the following also apply, and prevail
over anything else in these terms that conflicts with them:
- Parties. These terms are between you and Factor IO only, not Apple. Factor IO, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Scope of licence. Your licence is limited to using the app on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
- Maintenance and support. Factor IO alone is responsible for maintenance and support of the app, as set out in these terms or required by law. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- Warranty. Factor IO is responsible for any product warranty, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app, and any other claim, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty is Factor IO’s responsibility.
- Product claims. Factor IO, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the app or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
- Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the app or your possession and use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Factor IO, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo, or designated by the United States Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app, such as those of your wireless data provider.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and on your acceptance of them Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Questions, complaints or claims about the app go to Factor IO at the address in section 02 or the
email address in section 13.
11 / If you got the app from Google Play
Additional terms for Android
If you obtained Cat Countdown from Google Play, your purchase of the app and of the Cloud Backup
subscription is also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Play’s policies
on payments, cancellations and refunds. Google is not a party to these terms and is not responsible
for the app. On Android the app checks that your copy is genuine, as described in section 03 of the
Privacy Statement.
12 / Changes to these terms
We will tell you
If these terms change, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. If a change
materially affects the Cloud Backup subscription, we will also surface it in the app. A change never
applies retroactively to a yearly period you have already paid for.
